Meeting Minutes
Monday March 30, 2015
Opening:
The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order by Loryn at 12:30 pm in the BPK Conference Room
In Attendance:
Loryn, Shaila, Garrett, Bogdan, Matt, Garveen, Josh, Steven M, Steven O
KIN Cup
-there was a good turnout this year
-Things to do for next year:
-we need more food and we need to make sure to get in advance for next year
-list of food from this year that we’ll use next year
-brownies, cookies, oranges, bananas, granola bars, 2 cases of
juice boxes (Sun Ripe variety was popular)
-make sure to get the games started as soon as its possible
-Loryn will write up a rule book which we can email out to everyone so they
can read it beforehand, be more prepared, and so we don’t have to explain
the rules beforehand
-timer on laptop worked out; can possibly also buy a timer for next year
-try to book the gym in advance for next year and get 3 hours instead of 2; in
addition, we also need to start planning in advance for next year so we can
hold KIN Cup in February instead of January
Research Day
-was also very well done, 24/35 drink tickets were used, photo contest was well received
-for next year, we could make the pictures a little larger so they are more
noticeable
-there was an excellent turnout and the venue (SFU Theatre) was a great place to hold it
-Shaila motioned to reimburse BPK Research Day $144 for drinks. Matt seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.
Year End Party
-This Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 @ 5:30 pm at Club Ilia
-we need to advertise this as much as possible, so therefore make sure to mention it in any of the classes you guys are in
-we need some people to be @ Club Ilia before 5:30 to collect tickets and let people in;
-Laurie will also sell tickets in the BPK Office from Tuesday on
-Steven M will pass the tickets to Joel who will give them to Laurie
-Loryn will ask Richard about doing the joke article or the crossword again this year, but since this is last minute and if it doesn’t work out, we can break out the trivia from BPK Kickoff that we never ended up using
-Laurie will take care of sending out reminder emails to faculty and the undergraduates
