Minutes – August 15th, 2018

Opening:

The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 12:50pm by Crystal in the BPK Conference Room. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

Open Issues:

1) Approval of Previous Minutes

• Jaskarn motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2018-08-01. Riley Minutes approved unanimously

 

2) 2) Welcome Day

• Alyssa is looking for some volunteers for Welcome Day on August 30thfrom 11:15am-12:45pm. Email bpksa@sfu.ca if you’re interested in participating.
• looking for a BPK student to represent the department while they’re doing tours through the BPK Student Lounge

 

3) Science DSU Meeting

– Wednesday August 22nd from 10:30am-12pm in TASC 2 #9075

– If someone can make it to the meeting from the BPKSA

 

4) September Events

– BPK 101: Thursday September 13^th, 11:30-1:30

• Food: Fruit (apples, bananas, etc.), chocolate, granola bars, mini chip bags, juice
  • About $20 for food
  • Cookies for cookie game
• Swag:
  • Red draw bags -> 4imprint – 100 for $197 (with $45 set up charge)
  • Sunglasses -> the print doctor – 150 for $369 (with setup charge for $60), 4imprint – 150 for $247 (with $45 set up charge)
  • Lanyards -> 4imprint – 150 for $262.50 with sale price (ends August 31^st) (with $55 set up charge)

• Clubs day: Tuesday September 11^th and Wednesday September 12th

Concussion Club

• Sent further info about what they have in mind, they want to do online training session for those interested, with some documents and power point as well
• Possible promotion at Clubs Day

 

Kaplan Test Prep

• Company rep reached out to us to see if we’re interested in working with them

 

Motions:

Crystal motioned to reimburse Riley Welyk $58.60 for campsite reservations from Grant #918. Jaskarn seconded it. Motion was passed unanimously.

 

Emily P motioned to reimburse Katie Smolik $58.60 for campsite reservations from Grant #918. Riley seconded it. Motion was passed unanimously.

 

Riley motioned to reimburse Arshpreet Grewal $22.03 for pizza from Dominos and $35.14 for groceries from Walmart from Grant #918. Jaskarn seconded it. Motion was passed unanimously.
