Meeting Minutes

Opening:

The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 12:30pm by Loryn in room K9622.

 

In Attendance:

Loryn, Garveen, Ravneet, Emily, Debbie, Sabrina, Jake, Lea, Madison, Megan, Meghan

 

Open Issues:

 

1) Motions:

Loryn motions to allocate up to $100 each for Andrea Forer, Braedon Peterson, Brandon Sibal, Brigitte Leong-Chung, Catherine Canil, Erin Doherty, Erin Williams, Esther Chee, Jonathan Yu, Katriana Wong, Kimberly Ma, Konrad Maludzinski, Kreig Yeh, Lauren Chan, Leandra Ramsay, Lois Lee, Lucas Zayonc, Margaret Chang, Mariela Moen, Matteo Gazzola, Matthew Butt, Muthanna Somaiah, Omid Vakili for the Kin Games 2016 from the Travel & Conference Fund. Jake seconds. Passed unanimously.

 

2) Clothing

-collecting orders tomorrow and Friday outside the BPK Co-op Office

-please fill out the doodle poll! (http://doodle.com/poll/w45wqv4vr7g24rhk)

-we will have samples for students to try on

-will be selling leftover t-shirts as well

 

3) Kin Cup

-Spring break is March 14th through 28th, faculty may be away and the gym may be booked for camps

-March 9th, 10th, 16th, 23rd, 29th, 30th are possible dates, will send them to Tony who can circulate to the faculty and their top three days will be sent to Rec to see what is available

-will only be able to book a two hour slot this year

 

4) Year End Party

-have been going to Club Ilia for the last few years, however they had a change of management last year and things didn’t go as well

-DAC is an option: students under 19 can still attend, nicer venue so more people may be inclined to attend

-ideal date would be Thursday March 31st which is two weeks before exams start

-will have Ashly contact the DAC and get more info

 

5) Guinness World Record

-SFU wants to break the world record for how many people are doing lunges at once

-can sign up in teams, and the largest team will win $500

-Monday March 14th from 12:30-1:30pm

-current record is 804 people

-we should encourage all BPK students, staff and faculty to participate so we can use the money towards funding the YEP

-Sabrina will create a WebSurvey for everyone to sign up through

 

6) SUSS Updates

-they are holding an election for representatives, so if you are interested please look into it further!
