The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 11:35am by Crystal in the BPK Conference Room. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

Open Issues:
1) Approval of Previous Minutes
- Emily P motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2018-01-16. Ryan seconded. Minutes approved unanimously
2) Careers in BPK
- 57 students have signed up to attend the event so far
- 4 students have signed up for the lab tours
- Expecting more students to attend the event without registering in advance
- Preference for breakout sessions is approximately even
- Brandon will promote the event in the SFU 2017 Facebook group. Hopefully this will increase registration
- Some exhibitors have agreed to bring a door prize; we also have 2 gift cards and clothing to give away
- Touring Dave Clarke and Dawn Mackey’s labs
- Registration
- Check name off list
- Collect $4
- Ticket for door prize & dinner
- Collect one ticket before dinner so we know they have paid
- Food
- Placed order for 150 people
- We expect to have left overs but we would rather have more food than not enough
- 21 exhibitors, each will get half a table
- We organized the tables to spread out the exhibitors that we expect to be busier
3) Rock Climbing Social
- Group rate is $12 per person
- We estimated 20 people attending the event
- We will apply for a grant from the SFSS to subsidize costs
- Students will pay approximately $5 to rock climb at the event

4) Kin Games
- We have $1100 of travel funding remaining
- The members of the Kin Games 2018 team have asked for a travel grant from the BPKSA
- The 17 members of this year’s Kin Games team are: Ashwin Singh (Captain), Erin Williams (Captain), Kreig Yeh (Captain), Santiago Matilla (Captain), Chad Williams, Alison Bogar, Sophia Sato, Andrea Forer, Arshia Zarrin, Maddie Neufeld, Malcolm MacRitchie, Hannah Davis, Konrad Maludzinski, Lucas Zayonc, Katie Smolik, Shanti Thurber, and Todd Hoggarth
- We did not foresee any other uses for the travel funding so we will be contributing $1100. We will grant Katie Smolik $100 and the remaining $1000 will be divided amongst the other BPK students travelling to the Kin Games

Motions:
Jaskarn motioned to apply for a $120 grant from the SFSS for the Rock Climbing Social event. Ryan seconded it. The motion was passed unanimously.
Brandon motioned to contribute $1100 to the BPK students on this year’s Kin Games team from travel conference funding. Emily B seconded it. The motion was passed unanimously.
