-therefore we can book Applied Sciences as a backup

  • Matt will work with Sabrina on the poster

  • Need to brainstorm ideas for careers we want to showcase for the career night
  • Ideas so far:

àPhysiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medicine, Chiropractic, Research, Naturopathy, Athletic Training, Kintec (from last year)

-University of Medicine and Health Sciences from the Caribbean will be an exhibitor this year

-BCIT will also be an exhibitor

àMaybe explore some other career choices so we can include a larger variety of careers paths from BPK for this year; ideas include:

-Ergonomics, BCIT prosthetics and other programs such as Radiology or Sonography, La Physique, Exercise Therapy, Registered Massage Therapy, Emergency Medical Technician, Fortius, Optometry, Teaching, University Lecturers , Law, Science Advisor for Television (Sarah Chow)

-can include these careers in the showcase and give them their own booth to see how much interest it generates and maybe include it next year in the breakout sessions

àCan ask Diana (who manages BPK 343 practicums) about Kin related practicums?

Barber Prosthetics: Erina did co-op here and thought they were a very impressive company; can include them as exhibitors

  • Darleen will found someone who is older and has gone down these career paths

-Shaila and Loryn will talk to their friends who are RMT’s

  • Can have the practitioners set up with their own booths so students can have more one to one interactions with them
  • Maybe this year we should advertise the career fair as much as the breakout sessions so more people are tempted to attend the career fair before the breakout sessions

àformerly had: 2 session times with 2 talks going on during each session

àmaybe this time we could do 3 shorter sessions to allow people more exposure + a longer question period
