Meeting Minutes
September 5, 2014
In Attendance:

Opening:
The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order by Steven at the Highland Pub at 2:30 pm
Open Issues:
àBPK Kickoff
- September 11, 2014 (Thursday)
- Will meet at convocation mall around 11:30
- Volunteers: wear your BPK clothing!
- Will have signs so Kickoff attendees know where to meet at convocation mall
-will need about 10 signs that say “BPK Kickoff”
-Debbie will get the sticks for the signs
-Shaila will make the signs and have them laminated at the SFU Rec office, with their permission
- Sabrina has an emailing list for the students registered in the Kickoff
-Steven will write up the emails to send to this emailing list and the first year undergraduates to inform them about where to meet for the Kickoff
-Sabrina will then forward the email out
- Josh will make a post on the Facebook page for the Kickoff and will also remove Peer Health from tours on the webpage

-Have some volunteers who will hang around convocation mall for those who come late
-3 groups for tours and we will make the tour leader teams the day of the Kickoff
àHave a girl and guy tour guide in each group
- SFU Tours:
àtours of: Strength and Conditioning, SFU Physio, Fitness Centre
àSchedule: start tours at 11:50
-1st session: 11:50-12:10 pm
-2nd session: 12:15-12:35 pm
-3rd session: 12:40-1:00 pm
- Around 1 pm: walk over to the BBQ
àBPK Trivia: To encourage students to talk more to the BPK professors, we will have a trivia section in the pamphlet
-trivia part is going to be detachable
-whoever gets the most facts from the professor will be the winner
-if there is a tie, name will be drawn out to determine the winner (who we will email afterwards to let them know)
-prize is the FIFA video games, which Darleen has
-Sabrina printed out approx 50 pamphlets
- Lab Tours: start at 2:00 pm
-use the same groups for lab tours that were used for SFU Tours
-Labs:
àDr. Victoria Claydon: Cardiovascular Physiology Lab
àDr. Damon Poburko: Molecular Cardiac Physiology Lab
àDr. Stephen Robinovitch: Injury Prevention and Mobility Lab
- Dessert after Lab Tours; Kirsten will be getting the desserts from Costco and it will include 2 fruit platters and 2 dessert platters
àFall 2014 Meeting Times:
- Until September 24, 2014, the meeting’s will be held Mondays @ 1:30 pm
- From September 24, 2014 and onwards, the meeting’s will be on Wednesdays @ 1:30 pm
àBPKSA Elections will be held September 22, 2014

The meeting was adjourned by Steven at 4:20. The next meeting will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:30 pm.
