The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 1:30pm by Crystal in the BPK Conference Room. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

2) Approval of Previous Minutes
- Emily P motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2017-09-11. Ningning seconded
- Minutes approved unanimously
3) BPKSA Clubs Day
- 33 people wanted to be added to the mailing list
- Handed out over 100 flyers to Wings Night
4) Wings Night
- About 75 people attended, including some staff/faculty
- Mostly undergraduate students in BPK
- $300 came from the SFSS grant, $30 from BPKSA core, $30 from BNSS core
- The event would have been more successful if we had ordered more wings. Apply for a larger grant for the next social event
- Photos have been posted on the BPKSA website
- BPK and BNS students were able to interact with each other
5) Careers in BPK Night
- Career Night is usually scheduled one day before or after UBC Kin’s Career Night
- UBC Kin has not selected a date yet
- We will propose Wednesday January 17th
- Wednesday was selected because turnout on that day of the week has been good in previous years
- Based on feedback from previous Careers events held in ASB and Saywell, we would prefer to hold the event in Saywell Hall this year
6) Career Services
- Crystal will meet with Brenda Badgero Wednesday morning to discuss how Career Services and BPKSA can work together to promote career opportunities
7) Welcome BBQ Kickoff
- Email was sent out to BPK undergraduate students this morning
- Mandy Angus, a grad student from Peter Ruben’s lab will be leading the tour of the Molecular Cardiac Physiology Lab
Motions:
Jaskarn motioned to reimburse Emily Chinn $34.02 from the core account for BPK Peer Mentorship Meet & Greet prizes (clipboard, USB, Tim Hortons gift card, and Starbucks gift card). Meghan seconded it. Motion was passed unanimously.
